Shivpuri (Tehri), Jan 27 (NationPress) - The host state of Uttarakhand, along with Maharashtra and Kerala, kicked off their campaigns with victories in the Beach Handball League matches of the 38th National Games. The event began on Monday at the Sand Beach in this Uttarakhand town, showcasing an exhilarating start in both men's and women's divisions.

In the men's category, the home team Uttarakhand showcased their strength by defeating Telangana with a commanding score of 2-0 in a Pool A match. Dinesh netted an impressive 14 goals, while Bhupender Singh contributed 13, leading Uttarakhand to victories of 17-6 and 19-12.

Additionally, the Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) achieved a decisive 2-0 win against Jharkhand. In Pool B, Uttar Pradesh outperformed Andhra Pradesh with the same score, and Rajasthan triumphed over Goa by a similar margin.

Moving to the women's matches, Maharashtra bested Uttarakhand with a 2-0 victory in Pool A, while Haryana secured a win against Assam, also by 2-0.
