Andrea is a highly esteemed personality in football, possessing extensive knowledge and experience. His technical roles include tenures at Italian clubs such as Carpenedolo, Parma, and Genoa, and most recently, he served at Atletico Madrid.
“I am excited to join Arsenal during this remarkable phase for the club. I have observed with great interest how Arsenal has progressed in recent years, and I admire the hard work dedicated to reestablishing the club as a significant force in European football, with a passionate global following.
“The club is built on strong values and has a rich history, and I look forward to contributing to a successful future alongside a great team. I am eager to begin my new role and can’t wait to experience my first game at Emirates Stadium with our fans,” Andrea expressed in a statement.
Andrea dedicated nearly 12 years to Atleti, significantly influencing the squads that secured La Liga titles in 2013/14 and 2020/21, as well as the UEFA Europa League in 2018. The team also clinched the Copa Del Rey, UEFA Super Cup, and Supercopa de Espana during his tenure, while also reaching two UEFA Champions League finals.
“Anyone familiar with football understands that Andrea is an impressive figure. He possesses deep knowledge of the game, an excellent track record, a robust network, and an unquenchable thirst for building winning teams.
“Andrea will be a tremendous asset to our club. He aligns with our values and mission, and we are confident he will help us move forward and take the next steps in our pursuit of major trophies.
“Our recruitment process was thorough, and we were greatly impressed by the caliber of all candidates. However, it was Andrea's experience and the success he has achieved that truly distinguished him. We eagerly anticipate working together and welcoming him into the Arsenal family,” stated Co-Chair Josh Kroenke.
