Liverpool, Jan 6 (NationPress) Arne Slot shared his insights on Liverpool's performance as they were held to a 2-2 draw against Manchester United, indicating it feels like they dropped two critical points in the title race.
Liverpool missed the opportunity to establish an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League with their 2-2 result at home against Manchester United on Sunday evening.
The league leaders initially fell behind but managed to take a 2-1 lead at Anfield, only to settle for a draw after Amad scored the equalizer in the 80th minute.
"It feels for us as two points dropped. I think many people remember what happens towards the end, and that was a significant chance for (b)Harry Maguire, of course. However, we often overlook that just two minutes earlier, Virgil van Dijk had a massive opportunity to score and make it 3-2 for us. Ultimately, it was a challenging game. It resembled the match against Nottingham Forest, where both teams exhibited a similar playing style.
"Competing against that style of football is not always easy, and it was evident against Forest and again today. Especially when they have such high-quality players who can defend effectively, penetrating their low block is quite difficult," Slot remarked during a post-match press conference.
Liverpool currently holds a six-point advantage over second-placed Arsenal with a match in hand, while the draw elevates Ruben Amorim's side to 13th in the table, surpassing West Ham United.
