London, April 7 (NationPress) Liverpool manager Arne Slot pointed to his team's first-half mistakes as the primary cause for their 3-2 loss against Fulham away from home, rejecting any notions that his players were becoming complacent in their title pursuit with an 11-point advantage.

The match at Craven Cottage on Sunday evening saw Liverpool stunned, falling behind 3-1 at halftime after initially taking the lead. This defeat marked their second loss in the Premier League this season, ending their impressive 26-match unbeaten streak in the competition, according to Premier League reports.

Despite the setback, which represented their first away loss, Liverpool's lead remained intact at 11 points following a 1-1 draw for second-placed Arsenal against Everton on Saturday.

Slot remarked, “There is no reason for us to feel complacent. We are not in the No 1 position simply because we win every match by three or four goals. Anyone who has watched our games knows that it requires immense effort and hard work to win, combined with quality, of course.”

He continued, “In general, we don't make many errors, let alone three in a single match. Today, we also had [Ibrahima] Konate losing the ball. The second half was considerably better than the first, but winning at this level is challenging if you concede three goals like we did.”

Slot added, “You could sense we were creating numerous chances; we had a few, but unfortunately, time ran out before we could net the third goal. This issue stems from conceding three goals, as scoring three on the road is particularly tough, especially against a strong team like Fulham.”

The defeat against Fulham means Liverpool has lost three of their last four matches across all competitions, including the EFL Cup final against Newcastle United.

Slot's team will have a week to prepare for their next match against West Ham United next Sunday, while their title competitors Arsenal will play twice during the interim.
