Sydney, Jan 22 (NationPress) Babar Azam will not be participating in the remaining matches of the Big Bash League (BBL15) Finals Series as he is set to return to Pakistan to join his national team for preparations for upcoming international contests, announced the Sydney Sixers on Thursday.

The team confirmed that Daniel Hughes will take Babar's place in the lineup, stepping in as the opener.

"Babar Azam has been called back to participate in Pakistan's national camp before the upcoming international matches. He will be absent for the remainder of the BBL 15 Finals Series," the Sixers stated.

Babar expressed gratitude to the fans for their unwavering support during his time with the BBL team. "First and foremost, thank you very much, Sydney Sixers, for having me. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time with the boys and the coaching staff. Regrettably, I must now leave the team for national obligations," he said in a video shared by the Sixers on X.
