Munich, May 27 (NationPress) Adam Aznou is making an early return to FC Bayern from his loan spell with Real Valladolid in Spain. The 18-year-old Moroccan international spent the second half of the last season on loan at the Spanish top-tier club.

Similar to Maurice Krattenmacher, who has also been recalled from Ulm, the winger will rejoin the German champions' squad starting June 1, 2025. This return allows him to participate in the Club World Cup taking place in the USA.

Aznou has been a part of the German record champions since the summer of 2022 after transferring to the FC Bayern Campus from the famed FC Barcelona academy. His journey at Barcelona’s prestigious ‘La Masia’ began at the age of 13. After moving to Munich, he asserted himself in the U17 and U19 teams and secured a three-year professional contract in May of the previous year. In addition to making 18 appearances for the reserve team, he made his competitive debut for Vincent Kompany’s squad in November, leading to a 3-0 victory against Union Berlin, and has since played three matches, including one in the Champions League. Aznou has also represented the senior Moroccan national team three times. During his loan at Valladolid, he participated in 13 out of 16 league matches, showcasing his versatility as both a left-back and a left winger.

Christoph Freund, sporting director, commented, “Adam Aznou has acquired significant experience at Real Valladolid and has developed remarkably well. His consistent playing time indicates that he has successfully competed at this elevated level. Our aim is to reintegrate him into our first team at the Club World Cup so he can take the next steps in his career.”

The FIFA Club World Cup will undoubtedly be a bittersweet event for the Bavarians as their most dedicated player, Thomas Muller, is set to depart the club following the tournament. With 751 appearances across all competitions for Bayern, he stands proudly at the pinnacle of the club’s all-time appearance chart, surpassing legendary goalkeeper Sepp Maier by an impressive 42 matches.
