Dhaka, April 12 (NationPress) The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has approved a one-day extension to the No Objection Certificates (NOCs) provided to fast bowlers Shoriful Islam and Nahid Rana, enabling them to maintain their involvement in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL).

This announcement was made public by the BCB through an official press release on Sunday, subsequent to a formal appeal from their franchise, Peshawar Zalmi, and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

“The decision was taken in response to a request from their PSL franchise, Peshawar Zalmi, along with the Pakistan Cricket Board,” stated the BCB in its Sunday announcement.

Initially, the NOCs issued to the two bowlers were set to remain valid until April 12, 2026. However, this extension now permits both players to remain in Pakistan for an additional day to participate in Peshawar Zalmi’s upcoming league match.

“Shoriful Islam and Nahid Rana were originally granted NOCs valid until 12 April 2026. Under the new terms, both players are allowed to stay in Pakistan for Peshawar Zalmi’s scheduled PSL match on 13 April 2026,” it further elaborated.

Peshawar Zalmi has had a successful run in the tournament thus far, currently leading the points table with four victories out of their five matches. They are set to compete against Multan Sultans on Monday in what is anticipated to be a pivotal match as the league progresses.

In addition, both Shoriful and Rana are key components of Bangladesh’s plans for the upcoming international series. They have been included in the 15-member squad for the first two One-Day Internationals of the three-match series against the New Zealand cricket team, which is scheduled to begin on April 17.

The first two matches are set to take place at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka on April 17 and 20, while the third ODI is planned for April 23 in Chattogram.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz will continue to lead the team, which features seasoned players like Litton Das, Taskin Ahmed, along with promising young talents such as Rishad Hossein and Nahid.
