Bihar Government Leases Moin-ul-Haq Stadium to BCA for 30 Years

Patna, Dec 12 (NationPress) The Bihar government has officially transferred the land registry for Moin-ul-Haq Stadium to the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) under a long-term 30-year lease. This pivotal move is aimed at facilitating international cricket matches in Patna and providing a state-of-the-art cricket stadium for local cricketers.

Moreover, the government has waived the land registry fee, which amounts to around Rs 37 crore, as previously disclosed.

The signing of the registry documents took place with Sports Department Director Mahendra Kumar representing the Bihar government and BCA President Rakesh Tiwari representing the BCA. The event was graced by Sports Department Deputy Director Sanjay Kumar, Patna District Sports Officer Om Prakash, BCA Secretary Jiaul Afrin, GM Admin Neeraj Rathore, and several other esteemed guests.

After completing the land registry, BCA President Rakesh Kumar Tiwari announced that the date for the stadium's construction foundation-laying ceremony would be revealed following the end of the Kharmas period in the coming year, with construction set to commence promptly.

Expressing appreciation to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, Tiwari stated, "The Bihar government has fulfilled its duties. Now, it is the responsibility of the Bihar Cricket Association to initiate the project. The BCA is committed to accelerating the construction and delivering a world-class stadium for the people of Bihar within two to three years, where international matches can be enjoyed."

It is important to note that on November 6, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Bihar government and the BCA for the handover of the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium to the cricket organization, attended by Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha.

The Moin-ul-Haq Stadium is set to be transformed into an international-level stadium and sports complex.

The stadium will accommodate 40,000 spectators and include 76 corporate boxes along with facilities for 250 VIPs. The sports complex will also feature a badminton court, volleyball court, swimming pool, a five-star hotel, a fully-equipped hostel for players, restaurants, a clubhouse, and various modern amenities.
