Hyderabad, April 24 (NationPress) Mumbai Indians bowler Trent Boult has showered accolades on seasoned opener Rohit Sharma after the former MI skipper delivered consecutive half-centuries to propel the five-time champions back into playoff contention in IPL 2025.
After MI's commanding seven-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad, Boult praised Rohit as a “world-class” athlete whose current form could be pivotal in the team’s pursuit of a record-extending sixth title.
“The entire Mumbai Indians squad has some outstanding players, and Rohit certainly doesn't require any introduction in that context,” Boult remarked during the post-match press conference.
“Everyone aims to contribute when possible, but Rohit has been performing exceptionally well lately and is timing his game perfectly. He is set to play a significant role for us in the upcoming matches. It's vital to be ready for any responsibility,” he continued.
Rohit’s impressive 70 runs off 46 deliveries enabled MI to successfully chase down a modest target of 144 in just 15.4 overs, following Boult’s sharp opening spell of 4-26 that dismantled SRH’s top order. This victory not only kept MI's playoff aspirations alive but also considerably improved their net run rate, elevating them to third place on the points table.

“During my time at Rajasthan, I was always prepared to bowl at any moment of the match. I’ve been fortunate to play 10 seasons of IPL where the approach hasn’t always been the same.
