Liverpool, July 2 (NationPress) Jarrad Branthwaite has secured his long-term association with Everton by finalizing a fresh five-year contract that extends through June 2030.
The England international, who celebrated his 23rd birthday last week, transitioned to the Blues from his local club Carlisle United in January 2020. After successful loan spells at Blackburn Rovers and PSV Eindhoven, he has emerged as a crucial component of the Toffees’ defense for the last two seasons.
In an interview with evertontv after signing the new long-term deal, Branthwaite expressed, “I’m thrilled. This is something we’ve been discussing since the conclusion of the season, and finalizing it now is incredibly exciting for me.
“The faith the Club has shown in me and the number of matches I’ve played over the past two seasons made the choice to remain and continue my development as a player quite straightforward. Branthwaite has been part of Everton’s defense, which has achieved the fourth-best defensive record in the Premier League for the past two seasons.
He was honored as the Club's Players’ Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season after an impressive campaign with the Men’s Senior Team in 2023/24, and he reclaimed the Young Player of the Season title last year with an overwhelming 89 percent of the fan vote.
“I’m familiar with the Club. I feel appreciated by both the players – we have a fantastic group here – and the fans. Over the past few years, I’ve witnessed the influence of the fans on our team and how much it means to them. With the new stadium, fresh ownership, and the new manager, this is an exhilarating project that I want to contribute to.
“Anticipating our first match at the new stadium together is something we’re all eagerly looking forward to. We aim to strive for a successful season,” he added.
