Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Ivory Coast central defender Ousmane Diomande from Sporting CP on a four-year contract, with the Premier League club retaining an option to extend the agreement by a further season. From Sporting to Nottingham: The Transfer Details

Diomande made 132 appearances across all competitions for Sporting CP after joining the Lisbon club in January 2023. His most productive campaign came in 2024/25, when he featured 46 times as Sporting secured the domestic double and progressed to the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League. In the following season, he started both legs of Sporting's Champions League quarter-final against Arsenal — a tie the Portuguese side narrowly lost.

A Journey from Ivory Coast to the Premier League

Born in Ivory Coast, Diomande began his footballing education at Olympic Sport Abobo before relocating to Denmark to launch his professional career with FC Midtjylland. A loan stint at Mafra in the 2022/23 season brought him to Sporting's attention, and his loan was cut short to facilitate a permanent move to Lisbon in January 2023. He went on to help Sporting win consecutive Portuguese league titles.

Diomande has also made his mark on the international stage.
