Chennai, January 30 (NationPress) Chennaiyin FC has successfully secured the signing of Spanish forward Inigo Martin, who is ready to begin his first journey in Indian football. The 26-year-old, hailing from Bilbao, is poised to enhance the offensive capabilities of the Marina Machans as they gear up for the forthcoming season.

Martin joins Chennai after valuable stints in Spain, Andorra, and Georgia, bringing a wealth of experience from diverse football cultures. As a centre forward by nature, he is adept at playing across various attacking positions, providing tactical versatility and dynamic movement in the offensive zone.

He becomes part of a new cohort alongside fellow Spaniard Alberto Noguera, Moroccan midfielder Mohammed Ali Bemammer, and Indian winger Imran Khan.

Originating from Bilbao, Martin's football career commenced with local club Arenas, where he progressed through the ranks before gaining experience in Spain’s lower leagues. Eager for new challenges, he later carved out a successful professional path abroad, leaving a mark in both Andorran and Georgian football.

His time with FC Santa Coloma in Andorra was notably productive, followed by stints with FC Samtredia and FC Telavi in Georgia, where he further honed his skills in various tactical frameworks and competitive settings.

Regarding the latest addition to the squad, head coach Clifford Miranda remarked, “Iñigo fits the profile of player we were seeking for this position.
