Mumbai, Dec 20 (NationPress) The 80th CCI Western India squash tournament reached a thrilling stage on Saturday, showcasing exceptional squash, fierce rallies, and unwavering determination, emphasizing the championship's status as a premier event in the domestic squash scene.

The semi-finals across various categories highlighted the increasing depth and competitiveness within Indian squash. The athletes' fitness, strategic shot selection, and mental toughness were evident, affirming the tournament's significance as a vital platform for both budding and seasoned players.

In the women's division, top-seed Joshna Chinappa dominated Reiva Nimalkar with a decisive score of 11-4, 11-3, 11-5, advancing to the semifinal round. Meanwhile, second seed Sanya Vats faced a tough battle against Pooja Arthi R, winning with scores of 11-6, 10-12, 11-3, 11-5 to secure her place in the final four.

On the men's side, top-seed Veer Chotrani encountered a challenging match against Mahesh Mangaonkar but ultimately triumphed with scores of 11-9, 11-9, 12-10, showcasing his skill and tenacity. Second seed Suraj Chand delivered a superb performance, defeating Purav Rambhia with a score of 11-3, 11-5, 11-1.
