New Delhi, April 12 (NationPress) Former captain of Australia, Michael Clarke, has expressed his confidence in Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) turning their season around in IPL 2025. He emphasized that for SRH to rise from the last position on the points table, someone needs to step up and play longer innings.
SRH has faced four consecutive losses in IPL 2025, currently holding the last spot with only one victory. The team, led by Pat Cummins, is in dire need of their renowned batting and bowling units to perform against the in-form Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab Kings (PBKS) in a pivotal match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
“Cummins and his team are certainly overdue for a win. It’s shocking to see Sunrisers Hyderabad at the bottom of the standings - it’s hard to believe. There’s been much discussion about the 300-run games, but I believe those days are behind them now,” he stated.
“Their focus should solely be on winning the next match. They possess a talented squad and will maintain their aggressive strategy. However, if the situation demands someone to stabilize the innings and bat longer, I hope someone will rise to the occasion.”
“I expect they have learned from past errors. They are far too skilled to remain at the bottom. I genuinely believe Pat Cummins and his team will turn it around this time,” Clarke remarked on JioStar.
SRH boasts a solid head-to-head record of 16-7 against PBKS and has triumphed in four of their last five encounters since 2022. At home, SRH has only lost once in nine matches against PBKS. This strong record should provide a significant morale boost to SRH as they aim to rectify their performance before missing out on qualifying for the IPL 2025 playoffs.
