Chennai, April 11 (NationPress) All-rounder Jamie Overton showcased his skills with a brilliant bowling display, claiming 4 wickets for just 18 runs, leading the Chennai Super Kings to a 23-run victory over the Delhi Capitals at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Saturday. This marked CSK's first triumph of IPL 2026.

Overton’s exceptional bowling performance, which stands as the best in the current season, effectively hampered DC’s chase after a rapid start by openers Pathum Nissanka and KL Rahul, who surpassed the 50-run milestone within the fourth over. The game tilted dramatically when CSK made three breakthroughs in quick succession, leaving the visitors' batting order in chaos.

Despite a commendable effort from Tristan Stubbs, who scored 60 runs off 38 balls, the Capitals fell short, bowled out for 189 runs in 20 overs, aided by CSK's sharp fielding. Overton's disciplined bowling was complemented by debutant Gurjapneet Singh's consistent line and Anshul Kamboj's precision, who took 3 wickets for 35 runs.

DC’s inability to form lasting partnerships was detrimental to their efforts, particularly after CSK had suffered six consecutive losses at this venue.
