Ranchi, March 25 (NationPress) The Hockey Association of Odisha, Hockey Maharashtra, and Hockey Bengal achieved significant victories in their respective matches during the sixth day of the Final Phase of the National Women’s Hockey League at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astro Turf Hockey Stadium here on Tuesday.

In the opening match, the Hockey Association of Odisha triumphed over Hockey Mizoram with a score of 1-1 (SO 2-0) in Pool A.

Sanjana Kiro (5’) initiated the scoring early in the first quarter for the Hockey Association of Odisha. Conversely, Laltlanchhungi (55’) leveled the game for Hockey Mizoram in the dying moments.

Drupti Naik and captain Sumi Mundari converted their shoot-out attempts effectively. Goalkeeper Namsi Jarika was remarkable, stopping all four attempts from Hockey Mizoram during the shoot-out.

In the subsequent match, Hockey Maharashtra overwhelmed Manipur Hockey with a 4-0 victory. Goals were scored by Sanika Chandrakant Mane (3’), Tanushree Dinesh Kadu (36’), Sanjana Raikwar (54’), and Nikku Gurjar (59’).

The following game saw Hockey Bengal narrowly defeat Hockey Maharashtra 1-0. Both teams fought hard to prevent scoring until Shanti Horo (59’) clinched the game with a last-minute goal for Hockey Bengal.

On the previous day of the Final Phase of the National Women’s Hockey League 2024-2025, teams including Hockey Association of Odisha, Hockey Mizoram, Hockey Maharashtra, and Hockey Jharkhand also celebrated victories in their matches.

The Hockey Association of Odisha defeated Hockey Haryana 2-0 in Pool A, while Hockey Mizoram claimed victory over Hockey Madhya Pradesh 2-1.
