Bengaluru, Feb 25 (NationPress) Marizanne Kapp and Shikha Pandey each took two wickets in a single over, delivering early setbacks as Delhi Capitals managed to fend off a late surge by Bharti Fulmani, who scored 40 not out off 29 balls, limiting Gujarat Giants to 127/9 in 20 overs during their Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025 clash at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday.
The pace attack shone for Delhi Capitals, with Kapp recording figures of 2-17, Pandey taking 2-18, and veteran Annabel Sutherland securing 2-20. After opting to bowl first, Delhi Capitals exploited the slight green tinge on the pitch and the conducive seaming conditions, consistently troubling the Gujarat Giants throughout their innings. The spin bowlers continued the momentum in the middle overs, creating a strong possibility of restricting the Giants to below 100 runs.
