Delhi, Feb 10 (NationPress) The ACG Jr. NBA initiative, a nationwide 3v3 competition aimed at the leading junior basketball talents across India and recognized as the largest school-based basketball program in the nation, concluded successfully with All-Star Team Delhi securing the boys' championship and All-Star Team Chennai taking home the girls’ trophy.
In the boys' championship, All-Star Team Delhi overcame Maharana Pratap Inter College from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, with a score of 21-10, while All-Star Team Chennai achieved victory over Delhi Public School from Rajnandangaon, Chhattisgarh, winning 14-12 in the girls' contest.
The ‘ACG Most Improved Team’ accolade was awarded to Sardar Dastur Nosherwan Girls School in Pune, Maharashtra (U-14 Girls) and Nehru World School in Delhi (U-14 Boys) for their remarkable improvement throughout the tournament. Notable performances earned T. Sumithra Devi of All-Star Team Chennai (U-14 Girls) and Tarun Yadav of All-Star Team Delhi (U-14 Boys) the prestigious ‘MVP’ award.
Rumi Konwar from Delhi Public School, Rajnandangaon, Chhattisgarh, shone in the U-14 Girls category, finishing as the top scorer with 74 points and achieving the highest number of 3-pointers (11). In the U-14 Boys category, Tejas Kashyap from Maharana Pratap School in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, displayed impressive shooting skills with 14 three-pointers, while Tarun Yadav from All-Star Team Delhi topped the scoring charts with 61 points.
The five-day ACG Jr. NBA 3v3 National League Finals, held from February 6-10, 2025, at the Indira Gandhi Arena in New Delhi, featured a thrilling array of events, including the trophy presentation, free-throw competitions, and an engagement zone with interactive challenges for all participants. The event also included an ACG Jr. NBA Referee Clinic led by former NBA G League referee Greg Dandridge, providing officials with a unique chance to enhance their skills.
