Narainpur (Chhattisgarh), April 11 (NationPress) The reigning champions Delhi commenced their title defense with an impressive 14-0 victory over Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu in their opening match of Group F at the Swami Vivekananda U-20 Men's National Football Championship 2025, held at the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama Ground in Narainpur on Friday.

The scoring spree began just two minutes in, with Moirangthem Singh finding the back of the net, followed closely by Laishram Meitei in the 5th minute.

The standout performers were Meitei and Aditya Adhikhari. Meitei completed his hat-trick with goals in the 11th and 58th minutes, while Aditya achieved his hat-trick during the first half, netting goals at the 22nd, 45th, and second minute of injury time.

Other contributors to the scoreline in the second half included Aman, Sankhil Tuishang, Sachin, Nishan Lopchan, and Mohd Aaish, as Delhi sealed a comprehensive victory.

On the opening day, Chandigarh secured a 5-0 win against Pondicherry, taking the top spot in Group E, while Telangana and Uttarakhand played to a goalless draw.
