New Delhi, July 22 (NationPress) The highly anticipated second season of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) is set to commence on August 2, with the women's league scheduled from August 17 to August 24.
This season will include eight men's teams and four women's teams, emphasizing competitive balance, emerging talent, and fan engagement.
The tournament will be inaugurated with a grand opening ceremony, followed by the first men's match, while the final is slated for August 31 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the heart of the national capital.
A reserve day for the men’s final has been established for September 1, to accommodate any weather-related interruptions.
The Delhi Premier League has organized its eight teams into two groups of four. Group A features Outer Delhi Warriors, Central Delhi Kings, New Delhi Tigers, and North Delhi Strikers. Group B includes West Delhi Lions, East Delhi Riders, South Delhi Superstarz, and Purani Dilli 6.
A total of 40 matches will be played in the men's tournament, with each team competing for the coveted trophy. Each team will participate in a Double Round Robin format (2 matches – Home & Away) against three teams from their own group and a Single Round Robin (1 match) against four teams from the opposite group, resulting in a total of 10 games.
