Berlin (Germany), Sep 27 (NationPress) After an impressive 4-0 league triumph over Bremen, Harry Kane has ignited optimism for a potential contract renewal with Bayern Munich.

By reaching the remarkable milestone of 100 goals in just 104 matches, he has become the first player in Europe’s top five leagues to achieve this feat, outshining the previous record held by Cristiano Ronaldo and Erling Haaland, who both netted 100 goals in 105 games. The 32-year-old expressed his desire to continue wearing the Bayern Munich jersey for more years to come.

"That’s certainly a conversation we can have," Kane mentioned after scoring a brace in Friday’s match.

Although he is contracted with Bayern until 2027, recent speculation has suggested a possible return to the Premier League and his former club, Tottenham. Reports indicate that Kane is eager to break Alan Shearer’s Premier League goal record of 260 goals, with Kane currently at 213, according to Xinhua.

The forward's contract includes an exit clause valid until summer 2026, reportedly valued at 65 million euros, part of his 100 million transfer to Bayern in 2023.

"My contract is valid for almost another two years. There’s no rush for discussions at this point. We haven’t started yet, but I can say that the club is satisfied with me, and I am content with the club," Kane stated. "I consider the ongoing discussions outside as a compliment," he remarked.

Bayern’s sports board member, Max Eberl, emphasized that Kane is the team’s leader, generating enthusiasm with his drive for success, stating, "He recognizes that he can achieve his goals with us. We look forward to a successful future together."

Bayern’s coach, Vincent Kompany, praised Kane’s "inner hunger" and highlighted his outstanding contributions.

With 10 goals in just five league appearances, Kane is on pace to shatter Robert Lewandowski’s record of 41 goals from the 2020-21 season. "If the trend continues, it’s achievable," Kane said, sharing that he is motivated to pursue new goals.

The Bayern striker humorously remarked on his ambition for his next 100 goals, expressing that he hopes to achieve them quicker than the first set.

Bayern chairman Jan-Christian Dreesen noted how well the striker is fitting in, saying, "I saw him in the locker room; he’s in great spirits and clearly enjoying himself."

The England captain also shared that not only he but his family feel "extremely happy in Munich." He emphasized that both he and the club are aligned in their aspirations, with winning titles being his main focus.

Despite his commitment, Kane’s future could hinge on the club’s success in the UEFA Champions League, where aspirations are high for securing the club’s first title. "We take things one step at a time," he remarked, underscoring the importance of maintaining focus and enjoying the journey.

His goal-scoring drive has helped Bayern achieve a historic 22-3 goal difference following the first five matches. Bayern is set to compete against Paphos FC on Tuesday in their second Champions League match after a 3-1 win over Chelsea.
