New Delhi, Nov 4 (NationPress) The India U23 men's football team is set to head to Bangkok for a friendly match against Thailand U23 on November 15, coinciding with the FIFA international match window, as announced by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Tuesday.
The Blue Colts will kick off their training in Kolkata on November 7 prior to their trip to Thailand. The match will take place at the Thammasat Stadium in Pathum Thani on Saturday, November 15, starting at 15:30 IST.
This season, the India U23 squad has already participated in six friendly matches, including a trip to Tajikistan in June, where they faced local teams and the Kyrgyz Republic. They also played two matches against Iraq in Malaysia during August in preparation for the AFC U23 Asian Cup Qualifiers.
During the October window, the Blue Colts faced Indonesia twice, securing a 2-1 victory and a 1-1 draw, as reported by the AIFF.
In their second friendly against Indonesia at the Gelora Bung Karno Madya Stadium in Jakarta on October 13, the India U23s were held to a 1-1 draw. Following a scoreless first half, Korou Singh Thingujam (47’) gave the Blue Colts the lead, but Dony Tri Pamungkas (71’) equalized for the home team.
