Former Indian Hockey Coach Jagbir Singh Hospitalized Following Heart Attack

Rourkela (Odisha), Jan 3 (NationPress) Former Indian forward and hockey coach Jagbir Singh experienced a significant heart attack and was promptly admitted to a medical facility here on Friday. The two-time Olympian is in Rourkela participating in the Hockey India League with Team Gonasika.
Jagbir, who worked with Air India prior to his retirement a few years ago, was taken to the hospital without delay, and his condition is now reported to be stable.
The 59-year-old Jagbir Singh, born into a Sikh family in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, represented India in the 1988 Olympics in Seoul and again in the 1992 Games in Barcelona. He played for India from 1985 to 1996, securing a bronze medal at the 1986 Asian Games in Seoul and a silver medal in the 1990 edition in Beijing. Over his career, he earned a total of 175 international caps.
As a prominent forward of his era, Jagbir coached the Indian men's team during the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and has also been a respected commentator since the 1990s.
