New Delhi/Mumbai, March 10 (NationPress) - Head coach Gautam Gambhir arrived in Delhi while captain Rohit Sharma landed in Mumbai as the members of the Champions Trophy-winning Indian team returned from Dubai, each taking different routes to reach their homes on Monday.

Gambhir touched down in New Delhi around 7 pm, greeted by officials who escorted him to his destination. The 2025 Champions Trophy victory in Dubai marks his first significant title as the head coach of the Indian team, having taken the role in July of the previous year.

Rohit arrived in Mumbai at 8 pm on Monday accompanied by his wife, who had supported him during the final in Dubai.

Other players also departed Dubai for their respective destinations; some are reportedly choosing to take short vacations abroad before returning to India to begin preparations for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

India secured its third Champions Trophy title, becoming the first team to achieve this feat, by defeating New Zealand by four wickets in the final held at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.

The players opted to return individually as there were no grand celebrations planned for their homecoming after clinching the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Upon returning to India, the players will reconnect with their respective IPL teams to prepare for the upcoming season that begins on March 22. Teams like the Mumbai Indians have already initiated their preparations.

The Mumbai Indians, featuring Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya, commenced their pre-tournament practice at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad, with Mohammed Shami on board, started their pre-season camp earlier this month.

With the Brabourne Stadium hosting the final leg of WPL 2025 starting Monday, a large-scale victory celebration is not feasible due to security considerations.
