Rajgir (Bihar), April 3 (NationPress) - On the third day of the 16th Hockey India Sub Junior Men National Championship 2026, held at the Rajgir Hockey Stadium in Rajgir, Bihar, teams from Goa, Uttarakhand, and Arunachal Pradesh celebrated victories in their respective matches.
In a Division C showdown, Goans Hockey triumphed over Hockey Rajasthan with a commanding score of 7-0 in Pool B. Karan Kumar delivered a stellar performance with a hat-trick, scoring at 2’, 12’, and 44’. Other contributors included Sahil Pramod (17’), Dilshad Ali (27’), Shreyesh Hundre Changadev (30’), and Ankit (38’).

In another Division B match, Hockey Arunachal edged out Hockey Bihar with a score of 4-2. Goals were scored by Shubham Rajbhar (7’), Deepak Rao (24’), Ramansh Singh (34’), and Mohit Yadav (38’). For Hockey Bihar, Suman Kumar (2’) and Captain Abhay Shah (58’) contributed to their score.
On the previous day, notable victories were recorded by Andhra Pradesh, Mizoram, Delhi Hockey, Telangana Hockey, and Chhattisgarh Hockey.
The tournament features a total of 30 teams competing across Division A, Division B, and Division C, heightening the competition with promotion and relegation stakes. Division A teams will compete for the championship title, while the top two teams from Divisions B and C will earn promotion, and the bottom two from Divisions A and B will face relegation.
Division A includes 12 teams organized into four pools, culminating in quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final on April 12. Pool A consists of Hockey Punjab, Hockey Chandigarh, and Hockey Maharashtra. Pool B features Hockey Jharkhand, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey, and Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu. In Pool C, Uttar Pradesh Hockey, Hockey Haryana, and Manipur Hockey compete, while Pool D includes Hockey Madhya Pradesh, Hockey Association of Odisha, and Kerala Hockey.
Division B will follow a league format with two pools. Pool A consists of Delhi Hockey, Hockey Gujarat, Hockey Bengal, Telangana Hockey, and Hockey Uttarakhand. Pool B includes Hockey Karnataka, Chhattisgarh Hockey, Hockey Arunachal, Hockey Himachal, and Bihar (BSSA).
Likewise, Division C will also adopt a league format. Pool A contains Hockey Andhra Pradesh, Hockey Mizoram, Le Puducherry Hockey, and Assam Hockey, while Pool B includes Goans Hockey, Hockey Jammu & Kashmir, RAJ, and Tripura Olympic Association.
