Chandigarh, April 30 (NationPress) A remarkable team of elite sprinters, including Gurindervir Singh, Animesh Kujur, Manikanta Hoblidhar, and Amlan Borgohain, shattered the national record in the men's 4x100m relay during the 2nd Indian Open Relay Competition held here on Wednesday.

This extraordinary quartet, representing the Reliance Foundation team, achieved a stunning time of 38.69 seconds, establishing a new benchmark in the event at Chandigarh’s Sector 7 Sports Complex. The previous record of 38.89 seconds was set at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

The record-breaking athletes are part of the Reliance Foundation's High-Performance Centre, which collaborates with the government of Odisha in Bhubaneswar.

In the men's 4x400m relay, the NCC 1 (National Coaching Camp) team, consisting of Jay Kumar, Vishal TK, Manu TS, and D. Choudhary, secured victory with a time of 3:04.31. The NCC 2 team, featuring Santhosh T, Rince, Mohit Kumar, and Tushar Manna, finished second at 3:04.92, while Tamil Nadu’s team, comprising Mitresh G, Akash Raj, Rahul Balaji S, and Suraj A., clinched the bronze with a time of 3:10.67.
