Harbhajan Emphasizes India's Need for Top Performance at the Gabba to Secure Series Victory

New Delhi, Dec 12 (NationPress) Former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh emphasized that the Rohit Sharma-led team must deliver their best performance during the upcoming third Test at the Gabba if they wish to set themselves on the path to victory in the current Border-Gavaskar Trophy series.
India began their trophy defense impressively with a commanding 295-run victory in Perth but enters the third Test after suffering a ten-wicket loss in the second match at Adelaide. With the series tied at 1-1, the Gabba Test is pivotal for India.
"If we view this as a three-match series, India needs to win two of these matches. Their best chances, I believe, lie in Sydney and Melbourne. Regardless, if you perform at your best at The Gabba and secure a win there, you will likely win one of the matches in Melbourne or Sydney," Harbhajan stated on Star Sports.
"It's important to consider that. The results of the first two Tests indicate that both teams possess the ability to recover. Australia has bounced back; now it may be India’s turn to change the narrative," Harbhajan added.
He also reflected on how the ten-day break between the first and second Tests disrupted India’s momentum. "This series is challenging because both teams have faced defeats. What transpired with Australia in Perth might have been unexpected for them.
“Similarly, India’s defeat in Adelaide could have caught them off guard. The lengthy gap between the two Tests sometimes hampers momentum, which was evident in this case," the former spinner remarked.
With the series level at 1-1, the third Test between India and Australia is scheduled to take place in Brisbane starting Saturday.
