Mumbai, Feb 6 (NationPress) As India gears up to defend their title in the Men’s T20 World Cup, the uncertainty surrounding the availability of pace-bowling all-rounder Harshit Rana has raised concerns over potential replacements for the prestigious tournament.
Rana, who has accumulated nine T20I appearances so far, sustained a knee injury during a warm-up match against South Africa at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. He was observed limping off the field while holding his knee after bowling just one over, during which he conceded 16 runs and had to abort his run-up twice.
Despite India captain Suryakumar Yadav asserting that Rana has not been officially ruled out, sources have indicated to IANS that veteran pacer Mohammed Siraj is currently the leading candidate for his replacement.
