Rajgir, May 15 (NationPress) Haryana concluded its fencing competition at the Khelo India Youth Games 2025 in Bihar with a spectacular feat, securing all three gold medals on the final day held at the Indoor Stadium in the Rajgir Sports Complex on Thursday. The boys from Haryana triumphed in the saber team event, while the girls excelled in both the epee and foil competitions.
In total, Haryana emerged from the competition with seven gold, two silver, and three bronze medals. Following them, Maharashtra finished with two gold, two silver, and three bronze medals. Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, and Rajasthan each contributed one gold medal, solidifying their spots among the top five teams in this year's fencing events.
Deepanshi, the captain of the Haryana girls’ epee team, expressed her gratitude towards the coaching staff. “Our team's success is a result of our coaches’ training and guidance. This marks my second consecutive gold medal in the team event, and I take immense pride in our back-to-back victories,” she stated.
Ujjwal, the captain of the men's saber team, shared his excitement over the performance. “It was my inaugural Khelo India experience, and I was lucky to achieve the gold medal due to our teamwork and resolve. I owe thanks to our coaches, Kapil sir, Rajpal Yadav sir, Narendra Singh sir, and Suresh sir, whose support was crucial for our win,” he remarked.
Haryana’s Head Coach, Narendra Singh, radiated pride as he spoke about the team's performance. “Our fencers demonstrated exceptional skill, as reflected in our medal tally. Haryana has consistently excelled in previous editions of the Khelo India Youth Games, and this year was no exception.
