Key Takeaways
Noida, Jan 24 (NationPress) Following a hard-fought 4–5 defeat against Maharashtra Kesari in the Pro Wrestling League (PWL) 2026, the owners of Haryana Thunders are filled with optimism regarding their team's ability to rebound and enhance their performance as the season progresses.
The franchise management applauded the athletes' tenacity, observing that the team battled fiercely until the very last match, but ultimately came up just short.
Post-match, Prerana Banka, a co-owner of Haryana Thunders, commended the team’s determination. “Our players fought till the very end. We have exceptionally talented wrestlers; it was merely an off day for us. We assured the players that they gave their all. Sometimes, a narrow loss is beneficial for a team as it helps them stay grounded and eager,” she remarked.
Isha Gupta, another owner, shared similar thoughts, asserting that the outcome did not truly represent the team’s commitment on the mat.
“Our wrestlers fought valiantly till the end, but it was simply one of those days when luck wasn’t on our side. They felt a bit disheartened because we’re accustomed to winning our matches, particularly our female wrestlers. Nonetheless, this defeat will only strengthen our resolve, and we encouraged them to view it as an isolated incident,” she stated.
Shreya Parasrampuriya, another owner, emphasized the team's resilience and unwavering resolve.
“The team battled till the final minute and showed remarkable grit. Victories and defeats are integral to sports, and we believe that Haryana Thunders will return even stronger,” she expressed.
With two victories out of three matches, Haryana Thunders currently sits in third place on the points table. The franchise remains hopeful that the team will quickly regain their momentum as the Pro Wrestling League 2026 season unfolds.
