New Delhi, Nov 18 (NationPress) Hockey India expressed its heartfelt congratulations to Raghu Prasad RV for being honored as the FIH Umpire of the Year for 2025. This prestigious recognition was announced by the FIH following the recommendations put forth by the FIH Umpiring Committee.
With an impressive record of officiating in 198 international matches, Raghu not only marks his place as the first Indian umpire to achieve this accolade since 2015 but also stands out as the inaugural umpire from the Asian continent.
A proud resident of Bengaluru, Raghu embarked on his officiating career in 2001, covering various school, college, and league competitions. His international debut was in 2003 during the Four Nations Tournament held in Australia. Over the years, he has officiated at significant events, including the 2014 Commonwealth Games, two editions of the Asian Games (2018 and 2022), four Senior World Cups (2010, 2014, 2018, and 2023), and three Olympic Games (2012, 2020, and 2024), establishing himself as one of India’s most seasoned umpires.
