I-League 2024-25: Real Kashmir Triumphs Over Delhi FC with a 2-1 Victory

Srinagar, Dec 4 (NationPress) Real Kashmir FC achieved their second win in three encounters in the I-League 2024-25 with a 2-1 triumph over Delhi FC at the TRC Football Turf on Wednesday.

Bouba Aminou (72’) and Lalramdinsanga Ralte (84’) netted goals for the home side, while Stephane Samir Binong pulled one back for Delhi FC just a minute before the final whistle.

Under the guidance of Ishfaq Ahmed, Real Kashmir FC, who have played all their matches at home thus far, now have seven points from three games, whereas Delhi FC has faced their second consecutive defeat, remaining with just a single point from their draw against Namdhari FC.

The first half was more thrilling due to off-the-ball incidents than the actual play, with Delhi FC goalkeeper Debnath Mondal making headlines for the wrong reasons.

In a notable incident, the tall goalkeeper left his position to confront the referee regarding a free-kick decision, returning to his goal with a yellow card. On another occasion, Mondal ventured out of his area to thwart a rival striker but was outmaneuvered, with only a last-ditch clearance from a defender saving the day for the visitors.

Real Kashmir finally broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute when Bouba Aminou headed the ball home from close range. The play was initiated by Aminou from the left, culminating in a long ball from the right that found him perfectly positioned to score.

The second goal came in the 84th minute as the Delhi FC defense was caught off guard. A through pass located Lalramdinsanga Ralte, who capitalized on the moment and skillfully bypassed the goalkeeper to score.

Excitement returned when substitute Stephane Samir Binong scored for Delhi FC. However, instead of a comeback for Delhi, it was Real Kashmir FC who earned a penalty during the eight minutes of added time, which was unfortunately missed by Abdou Karim Samb, their Senegalese recruit.
