New Delhi, May 14 (NationPress) The fourth season of ILT20 in the UAE has been rescheduled to a December-January timeframe, aimed at concluding the tournament prior to the Men’s T20 World Cup, which is set to occur in February-March 2026.

Season four of ILT20 will now run from December 2, 2025, to January 4, 2026, coinciding with the early stages of the Big Bash League (BBL) in Australia. “After thorough discussions with all our stakeholders, we believe that the tournament window from December 2, 2025, to January 4, 2026, is perfect for the DP World International League T20 Season 4,” stated the organizers.

“With the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup starting in early February, it was crucial for us to kick off and wrap up Season 4 well ahead of this event, allowing players participating in both the DP World ILT20 and the T20 World Cup ample time for national preparation,” they added.

“Moreover, we believe that the December-January period will offer teams the best chance to tap into a wider talent pool,” remarked David White, CEO of ILT20, in a statement on Wednesday.

The league, featuring six teams and 34 matches, has seen Gulf Giants, MI Emirates, and Dubai Capitals claim the championship in its inaugural three seasons. “We are thrilled to announce that DP World International League T20 Season 4 will commence on UAE National Day – Eid-Al-Etihad – a significant day on the UAE calendar,” the officials noted.

“UAE National Day celebrates the United Arab Emirates, a country that welcomes people from across the globe, including countless devoted cricket enthusiasts. We are immensely proud to align the launch of the region’s premier T20 league – DP World ILT20 Season 4 – with the UAE National Day celebrations in 2025,” expressed Khalid Al Zarooni, chairman of ILT20 and vice-chairman of the Emirates Cricket Board.

Point of View

I recognize the significance of aligning the ILT20's schedule with international events like the T20 World Cup.
