Amman, April 21 (NationPress) Indian boxers have showcased their exceptional skill at the Asian U-15 & U-17 Boxing Championships held in Amman, Jordan, achieving three remarkable victories on Day 2. The 2024 SGFI gold medallist Tikam Singh (52kg) showcased his prowess against Ali Almesmari from the UAE, concluding the match with a Referee Stopped Contest (RSC) in the third round.
Udham Singh (54kg) demonstrated his boxing finesse by outclassing Iran’s Mohammadparsa Motevalianastanehsari, securing a decisive 5-0 win. Meanwhile, Rahul Gariya in the 57kg category overwhelmed Li Shou-Xun from Chinese Taipei, achieving an RSC victory in the first round.
India kicked off its campaign with a strong start, notching two impressive wins on the opening day, as Hardik Dahiya (43kg) and Rudraksh Singh (46kg) triumphed in their preliminary bouts.
This championship marks the inaugural event organized by Asian Boxing, receiving endorsement from both the Olympic Council of Asia and the recently established World Boxing. India has fielded a formidable 56-member youth boxing contingent, comprising 30 U-15 and 26 U-17 boxers for this continental event.
