Amman, April 20 (NationPress) India launched its journey at the Asian U-15 & U-17 Boxing Championships with two impressive victories on the first day, as Hardik Dahiya (43kg) and Rudraksh Singh (46kg) both secured decisive wins in their preliminary matches.

This championship marks the inaugural event organized by Asian Boxing, receiving backing from both the Olympic Council of Asia and the newly established World Boxing. India has assembled a robust team of 56 young boxers - comprising 30 U-15 and 26 U-17 athletes - for this continental competition.

The U-15 roster includes Ravi Sihag, a bronze medalist from the Asian School Boys Championship in Al Ain in 2024, along with Trushna Mohite, the 2024 sub-junior national girls boxing champion (64-67 kg).

Notable athletes in the U-17 boys’ team are Sahil Duhan and Devansh, who earned silver and bronze medals, respectively, at the 2024 Asian Junior Championship, along with Tikam Singh, the gold medalist from the 2024 School Games Federation of India (SGFI).
