India Faces Thailand, Kuwait, and Lebanon in AFC Beach Soccer 2025

Kuala Lumpur, Dec 19 (NationPress) India has been placed in Group A alongside hosts Thailand, Kuwait, and Lebanon for the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup Thailand 2025. The draw, which allocated 16 teams into four groups of four, was conducted at the AFC House on Thursday.
After an 18-year absence, India will participate in this tournament, with their last appearance being in the 2007 Asian Beach Soccer Championship held in the UAE. This will mark the first time the Indian national beach soccer team has been active since the 2008 Asian Beach Games in Indonesia.
Thailand is set to host the 11th edition of the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup for the third time, with the event scheduled to take place at Jomtien Beach in Pattaya from March 20 to 30, 2025.
The 16 participating teams were organized into four pots based on their final rankings from the 2023 tournament, where applicable, with Thailand being the top seed as the host nation.
In the previous edition, Thailand and Kuwait reached the quarterfinals, while Lebanon was eliminated during the group stage.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals. Additionally, the tournament offers a pathway to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, with the top three teams securing spots for the AFC at the 2025 event in the Seychelles.
