Kuala Lumpur, March 27 (NationPress) The senior women's team of India has been placed in Group B alongside Thailand, Mongolia, Timor Leste, and Iraq for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026 Qualifiers. This draw took place at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.
Thailand will serve as the host for Group B from June 23 to July 5, using a centralized single round-robin format. The winners of this group will advance to the final tournament, which is set to occur in three Australian cities from March 1 to 26, 2026.
Teams were categorized into five pots based on seedings derived from the FIFA Women’s World Ranking released on March 6, 2025.
Group A includes Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Singapore, and Bhutan. In Group C, Myanmar, Bahrain, Bangladesh, and Turkmenistan will compete for a chance at the finals. Group D consists of Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, and Pakistan.
