Team India remained unbeaten through Day 2 of the team event at the Pickleball World Cup 2026 in Da Nang, Vietnam, advancing to the quarterfinals after defeating the Philippines 4-1 and earlier sweeping China 4-0 in the Round of 32. The pro squad will next face a formidable USA side in the last eight.

How India Swept Through the Draw

The Indian pro squad — comprising Harsh Mehta, Arjun Singh, Anish Froilan, Aman Patel, Pearl Amalsadiwala, Naomi Amalsadiwala, Aaliya Ebrahim, and Mihika Yadav — opened their campaign in dominant fashion against China. Pearl Amalsadiwala and Mihika Yadav set the tone by winning the opening tie 21-19, before Harsh Mehta and Arjun Singh extended the lead. Mehta and Amalsadiwala then combined to win a tightly contested third tie, allowing Singh and Yadav to seal a clean 4-0 scoreline.

Philippines Tie Closer, But India Hold Firm

The Round of 16 clash against the Philippines proved more competitive, as expected. Amalsadiwala and Yadav again gave India the first point in women's doubles, but the men's doubles pair fell narrowly 19-21 to level matters. India responded with back-to-back mixed doubles wins, and Aaliya Ebrahim delivered a commanding 21-12 victory in singles to seal the tie 4-1 and book the quarterfinal berth.

Playing with Mihika and Harsh has been a great experience for me and Harsh Mehta has been pivotal in his leadership. I am very happy to have played my role for the team and look forward to the quarters,' said Pearl Amalsadiwala after the win.

India's Other Squads Also Through

The success was not limited to the pro side. The India Masters squad edged out China in the Round of 16 with a final score of 3-2, with Bhushan Akut and Petulia Balaji dominating the deciding tie 21-9. The Junior and Kids squads also advanced to the quarterfinals, where they will face Chinese Taipei and Australia respectively. The Masters side will take on Vietnam. The lone setback came from the India Senior team, which lost to New Zealand in the Round of 16, ending their campaign.
