Arjun Singh and Aditya Singh clinched the Pro Men's Doubles crown at the Maharashtra Pickleball Open 2026 in Mumbai on 4 May, overcoming Stavya Bhasin and Ammol in a three-set contest. In the Pro Women's Doubles final, Mihika Yadav and Snehal Patil delivered a commanding performance to secure the title in a decisive matchup.

Singles and Mixed Doubles Winners

Atharva Khisti captured the Men's Singles crown while Aahana Punjabi claimed the Women's Singles title at the tournament, which was conducted by the Maharashtra Pickleball Association (MPA) under the oversight of the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA). The event drew over 1,000 players across three days of competition, spanning age groups from 8 to 60 years.

Mixed Doubles Glory

In the Pro Mix Doubles category, Arjun Singh and Naomi Amalsadiwala triumphed in a three-set thriller against Pearl Amalsadiwala and Stavya Bhasin, adding another title to the Singh brothers' tally at the event.

MPA's Rapid Growth

The Maharashtra Pickleball Association, formed recently, has already accrued over 750 members in its debut month, signalling accelerating adoption of the sport across the state. Under the leadership of MPA President Rahool N Kanal, the association is spearheading structural development and tournament organisation within Maharashtra.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Rahool N Kanal stated: "Congratulations to all the winners and participants of the Maharashtra Open 2026. Watching the intent of players from the age of 8 all the way to 60 cements our belief in the vision we have for the future of pickleball in Maharashtra. This is only the beginning; our vision is to make Maharashtra the undisputed powerhouse of pickleball in India, one district at a time."

Suryaveer Singh Bhullar, President of the Indian Pickleball Association, praised the execution: "The Maharashtra Open has definitely been a tournament of the highest level both on and off the court, and the Indian Pickleball Association is very happy with the way Maharashtra Pickleball Association, under the able leadership of Rahool N Kanal, has executed this tournament. This is something IPA has witnessed across states where state associations have been putting in the work and are building an overall excellent ecosystem under the Indian Pickleball Association as a cohesive team effort."

Expansion to Tier-2 and Tier-3 Districts

The MPA is charting plans to expand pickleball's footprint across Maharashtra's districts, with a particular focus on establishing the sport in Tier-2 and Tier-3 towns. This district-by-district approach aims to build a sustainable player pipeline and consolidate Maharashtra's position as a pickleball hub within India.
