India's journey commenced with a challenging 0–3 loss to Korea Republic, where Han Sungbong (World No. 46) triumphed over Karunakaran with scores of 6-1, 6-1. Im Ho Won (World No. 61) defeated Kundargi 6-1, 6-2, and the pair of Lee Jihwan (World No. 52) and Han Sungbong sealed the match with a 6-3, 6-2 doubles victory.
