New Delhi, April 10, 2026: In an impressive display of skill, Team India faced Mongolia in the Billie Jean King Cup, securing a decisive 3-0 victory at the Delhi Lawn Tennis Authority Complex on Friday. As they hosted the Group I - Asia/Oceania fixtures, India has recorded two losses and two wins thus far, with their final match against the Korea Republic scheduled for Saturday.

In a strategic move, Zeel Desai stepped in for Vaishnavi Adkar in the opening singles match. The Indian team showcased their dominance, with both Desai and Sahaja Yamalapalli achieving flawless victories with matching scores of 6-0, 6-0. Adkar partnered with Rutuja Bhosale in the doubles, claiming a victory of 6-1, 6-0 to complete the clean sweep.

In their inaugural encounter, Desai set the pace with a masterful performance, defeating Anu-Vjin Gantor in just 37 minutes, dominating from the baseline with a score of 6-0, 6-0. Yamalapalli followed suit with another commanding win against Jargal Altansarnai, also finishing at 6-0, 6-0.

The dominance continued in the doubles, where Adkar and Bhosale secured an effortless 6-1, 6-0 win over Khongorzul Aldarkhishig and Jargal Altansarnai. The Indian duo worked in perfect harmony, taking control early and never allowing the opposition to recover, marking a nearly perfect match for the hosts.

In other matches, the Republic of Korea clashed with Indonesia, both teams vying for supremacy, currently tied at 5-5 in their head-to-heads. Korea took an early advantage with Dayeon Back maintaining her unbeaten streak in the tournament, narrowly overcoming Priska Madelyn Nugroho with a score of 7-5, 3-6, 6-2.

Thailand was also on track for a win against New Zealand, leading 1-0, even though they trailed 3-5 in their overall encounters. Anchisa Chanta gave them the lead with a score of 6-2, 6-3 against Aishi Das, with Patcharin Cheapchandej and Valentina Ivanov engaged in a tight contest, with the Thai player leading 6-2, 3-6, 4-0 at the time of writing.

All six teams are competing in a round-robin format through Saturday, with the top two nations moving on to the next stage.
