Jaipur, Dec 4 (NationPress) The current leader in the PGTI Rankings, Yuvraj Sandhu, delivered a remarkable performance in the third round, scoring an impressive four-under 66, which has given him a commanding three-shot lead with an aggregate of 16-under 194 at the Jaipur Open 2025. This prestigious event, boasting a prize pool of INR 1 crore, is taking place at the Rambagh Golf Club in Jaipur.
Starting the day in second position, just one shot behind the leader, Yuvraj Sandhu (65-63-66) showcased his skills with an eagle, four birdies, and two bogeys, allowing him to seize the lead in this crucial round. The golfer from Chandigarh is competing in Jaipur for the first time in four years and is now aiming for his sixth PGTI title this season. If he succeeds in securing this sixth victory, he will equal the PGTI record for the most titles in a single season, previously set by Manu Gandas in 2022.
The halfway leader, Kushal Singh (64-63-70), had a challenging day with a 70 that included four birdies but was marred by two double-bogeys, causing him to fall to second place at 13-under 197. Meanwhile, Badal Hossain from Bangladesh (65-67-66) played a flawless game, carding a 66 to ascend four spots, ending the day in third at 12-under 198.
Sandhu's day began with a bogey on the first hole, but he rebounded strongly with birdies at the third and on the 12th, including a tap-in, and a chip-in eagle on the eighth. A second bogey occurred on the 15th, yet he regained his momentum by scoring birdies on both the 17th and 18th Par-5 holes.
“I didn’t convert as many putts as I would’ve liked to, but my hitting was top-notch today. The bogey on the first was a good wake-up call for me, and I was in my zone by the time I reached the third tee. Thereafter, I finally played the way I’ve wanted to all week,” Sandhu stated at the conclusion of his round.
Reflecting on his journey, Sandhu shared, “I played my first PGTI event at the Rambagh Golf Club back in 2018 while still an amateur. With my current hitting form, I think I can match my best of 10-under at this course, a score I achieved back in 2021 when I last played here. I’ve improved my ball control, and that’s reflected in my scores, thanks to all the hard work I’ve put in with my coach Gurbaaz Mann.
Local professionals Hemendra Choudhary (three-under 207) and Prakhar Asawa (even-par 212) are currently tied for 28th and 42nd, respectively.
