Dubai, Oct 15 (NationPress) India’s ascendancy in red-ball cricket is once again mirrored in the latest ICC rankings, as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Kuldeep Yadav achieve significant advancements after the team’s 2-0 Test series victory over the West Indies.

Jaiswal has surged two positions to now stand at fifth, just behind England's Joe Root on the Test batters list. Meanwhile, Kuldeep has made a remarkable leap of seven places, reaching 14th among Test bowlers, following his stellar performances against the Caribbean team.

The West Indies also had their share of accomplishments. Captain Shai Hope jumped an impressive 34 positions to tie for 66th, while century-maker John Campbell advanced six spots to hold the 68th position on the Test batting leaderboard.

In the bowlers’ category, Jomel Warrican climbed two spots to rank 30th, marking a fruitful series despite the team’s losses.

On another front, Afghanistan has made history in the ODI rankings, with Rashid Khan and Azmatullah Omarzai both attaining the No.1 spot in their respective categories, following a 3-0 series victory against Bangladesh.

Rashid reclaimed his status as the No.1 ODI bowler, surpassing South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj after securing 11 wickets during Afghanistan’s historic whitewash against Bangladesh in Abu Dhabi.

Omarzai ascended one rank to dethrone Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza as the leading ODI all-rounder, thanks to his seven wickets and crucial lower-order runs throughout the series.

Rashid’s all-around contributions moved him up two spots to fourth in the all-rounder rankings, showcasing Afghanistan's dominance across various categories.

Ibrahim Zadran, who was honored as the Player of the Series, climbed eight positions to second in the ODI batting rankings, now only 20 rating points behind India’s Shubman Gill, who maintains the top position.

Additionally, teammates Rahmanullah Gurbaz (up two spots to 16th) and Mohammad Nabi (up six spots to tie for 50th) also made significant strides following the series.
