The auction's high stakes translated into an emotional rollercoaster for the young player. "There was a bit of anxiety - what would happen? Which team would choose me? But overall, it was both thrilling and enjoyable," he remarked.

When the final bid favored the Bulls, the celebration extended beyond the franchise's boardroom. Back in his village, his family erupted with joy, celebrating his status as the most expensive Indian defender in PKL auction history. "My family was elated. My parents were incredibly proud that their son had attained such a remarkable position," Dahiya expressed.

Yet, this success story was not always a given. His journey from village fields to professional prominence began almost serendipitously in 2018. "I got drawn into kabaddi while watching the seniors play in my village. It was a fun outlet from schoolwork," he candidly shared.

Initially, his family was not fully supportive. "At first, they didn't show much interest. But after I started performing well, their attitude shifted. They encouraged me to practice regularly, even on days when I lacked motivation," he noted, reflecting on how their support evolved alongside his growth as a player.

The turning point in his career came from an unexpected champion - his cousin, who recognized his potential. "He got me into the game, provided guidance, and worked hard with me," Dahiya recalled, attributing his success to this mentorship.

Dahiya's ascent through the ranks is characterized not by flashy moves but by a reputation as a "silent killer" - a defender known for precision rather than showmanship. His philosophy is straightforward yet profound. "Play with patience. Avoid aggression and mistakes. Make tackles when necessary and always play for the team. I tackle for my team, not just for myself," he stated.

With this record-breaking contract comes significant expectations, yet Dahiya remains calm under pressure. "I feel honored to be part of Bengaluru Bulls. I will represent them proudly this season," he affirmed, exuding the quiet confidence that has become his hallmark.
