The 16th Hockey India Junior Men National Championship 2026 produced four absorbing Division 'A' contests on Day 7 at the Coimbatore Hockey Ground in Tamil Nadu on Monday, 3 August, with Hockey Karnataka, Hockey Jharkhand, and Hockey Madhya Pradesh all claiming victories, while Manipur Hockey and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey shared the spoils in a pulsating 4-4 draw.

Karnataka Edge Bengal in a Seven-Goal Thriller

The day's opening fixture delivered relentless end-to-end action. Suraj Kumar Sah gave Hockey Bengal the lead in the 11th minute, but Pradip Mandal levelled just before the break (30+'). Nitesh Sharma (38') and Achaiah MM (49') combined to push Hockey Karnataka into a two-goal cushion, before Pradip Mandal added a second (51'). Bengal's Rasin Aind (58') and Abed Lugun (60') made it a nervy finish, but Karnataka held on for a 4-3 win and all three points.

Jharkhand Hold Off Delhi's Late Surge

Hockey Jharkhand defeated Delhi Hockey 4-3 in an equally tense encounter. Sabian Kiro struck early in the 4th minute before Prabhjot Singh (40') equalised for Delhi. Kiro completed his brace (47'), and goals from Sujeet Kerketta (48') and Ghuran Lohra (58') appeared to seal it. Delhi's Nishant scored twice in the final eight minutes (52', 60') to set up a tense finish, but Jharkhand survived to take the win.

Manipur and DNH & DD Share Points in Eight-Goal Draw

Ricky Tonjam (33') and Amarjit Singh Ningombam (37') gave Manipur Hockey a two-goal lead, before Yumkham Bidyananda Singh added two more (47', 52') to make it 4-0. Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey then produced a stunning four-goal final quarter through Moohamed Jaeed (45'), Sumit Rajbhar (50'), Sami Rizwan (53'), and Himanshu Yadav (55') to rescue a 4-4 draw — one of the most dramatic results of the tournament so far.

Madhya Pradesh Dominant in 4-0 Rout of Tamil Nadu

Hockey Madhya Pradesh delivered the most commanding performance of the day, blanking Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu 4-0. Rajveer Singh opened and closed the scoring with a brace in the 4th and 59th minutes, while Navin Ekka (12') and Sohil Ali (27') added further goals in a controlled display.

Day 6 Results Also Confirmed

Results from the remaining Day 6 Division 'A' fixtures were also confirmed. Hockey Association of Odisha defeated Manipur Hockey 4-1, with Lelsan Minz scoring a brace (13', 44') and Bilkan Oram (25') and Mohan Krishna (41') also on target. Harish Singh Leitanthem (38') scored Manipur's consolation. In the other Day 6 fixture, Hockey Haryana and Hockey Madhya Pradesh drew 2-2, with Sunil (C) (15') and Ankush (27') scoring for Haryana and Aashir Aadil Khan (30') and Sohil Ali (48') replying for MP. The championship continues to build toward its knockout stages.
