Bengaluru, Sep 24 (NationPress) The Karnataka Men’s T20 Cricket Series for the Blind 2025 commenced at Altiore Sports, The Oval on Wednesday, uniting four teams named after Karnataka’s legendary dynasties — Kadambas, Hoysalas, Chalukyas, and Wadiyars — each representing the State’s vibrant cultural and historical heritage.
The opening day featured intense matches. In the first game, Karnataka Hoysalas triumphed with a strong 42-run victory over the Karnataka Kadambas. Captain Harish S was a standout performer, scoring an impressive 68 runs off 55 balls, leading his team to a solid total of 197/6 in 20 overs. Despite a commendable unbeaten 44 from Hemanth, the Kadambas struggled under pressure, finishing at 155/9.
In the second game, Karnataka Wadiyars outperformed Karnataka Chalukyas with a convincing 59-run victory. With a rapid 36 runs off 26 balls from Krishnamurthy S and vital contributions from the lower order, the Wadiyars set a target of 176/9. Their disciplined bowling and sharp fielding dismantled the Chalukyas, who were all out for 117.
The league stage will continue on September 24 and 25, culminating in a 3rd vs. 4th ranking match on the morning of September 26, followed by the grand finale at 1:00 PM, where the leading two teams will compete for the championship title.
This tournament is organized by the Karnataka Cricket Association for the Blind (KCAB), in partnership with Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled and the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI), promoting inclusivity and sporting excellence.
Earlier this year, India dominated the Men’s Bilateral T20 Cricket Series for the Blind 2025 against Bangladesh, winning 4-1 in February. While India initially secured a 4-0 lead, Bangladesh managed to claim a hard-fought victory in the final match by 11 runs.
