Day 4 Highlights: Karnataka, A.P, and Haryana Achieve Remarkable Victories in Nagesh Trophy

Karnataka, Dec 12 (NationPress) Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Haryana celebrated significant victories on Day 4 of the ongoing 7th edition of the Men's National T20 Cricket Tournament for the Blind 2024-25, commonly referred to as the Nagesh Trophy. This year’s tournament features league matches in Groups A and B, which began on Monday, with ten teams competing for the title.
In Bengaluru, Karnataka triumphed decisively over Tamil Nadu. After being asked to bat first, Tamil Nadu posted a total of 117/9 in their 20 overs, while Karnataka chased down the target, scoring 87/5 in just 8.5 overs.
Karnataka won by 5 wickets via the DLS method, as the match was shortened to 13.0 overs with a target of 85 runs. Sunil Ramesh from Karnataka was named the player of the match.
In another match, the encounter between Delhi and Himachal was unfortunately abandoned due to adverse weather conditions in Bengaluru.
Group B matches at JK Pavilion Ground featured Andhra Pradesh against Pondicherry. Pondicherry batted first and managed to score 142/7 in their 20 overs. However, Andhra Pradesh chased down the target, achieving 143/5 in 16.1 overs.
Gopalachary from Andhra Pradesh was awarded the title of player of the match for his outstanding performance, scoring 50 runs off 34 balls.
In the other Group B match, Haryana faced Bihar. Haryana batted first, accumulating a total of 192/6 in their 20 overs, while Bihar could only manage 162/8. Deepak Malik from Haryana was recognized as the player of the match after his remarkable innings of 127 runs off 61 balls.
This year's league matches are taking place across six venues, culminating in the Super 8 stage scheduled for February 2025. A total of 28 teams, including state and union territory teams as well as an Indian Railways squad, are competing for the championship.
