Nagesh Trophy: Dominance of Gujarat and Maharashtra on Day 3

Hyderabad, Dec 25 (NationPress) Gujarat and Maharashtra achieved remarkable victories on Day 3 of the ongoing 7th edition of the Men's National T20 Cricket Tournament for the Blind 2024-25, widely recognized as the Nagesh Trophy, held here on Wednesday.
The Group D league matches of the 7th edition of the Nagesh Trophy kicked off here on Tuesday, featuring a total of five teams vying for glory in this phase of the esteemed tournament.
In the opening match of the day at JB Cricket Ground, Uttarakhand went head-to-head with Maharashtra. Due to rain, the match was shortened to 10 overs. Maharashtra won the toss and opted to bat. They struggled with regular wickets and were all out for 74 runs in 10 overs. Uttarakhand faced early setbacks, managing to score only 72/5 in their 10 overs, thus falling short of victory. Maharashtra clinched the match by two runs. Shobhit Dhyani of Uttarakhand was awarded Player of the Match for his exceptional performance, taking five wickets while conceding just six runs in two overs.
In the second match, Gujarat took on Jammu & Kashmir. Jammu & Kashmir won the toss and chose to field first. Gujarat put up a formidable target of 133 runs in 10 overs without losing a wicket. Jammu & Kashmir could only manage 49/3 in 10 overs, failing to chase down the target. Dinesh Rathva earned the Player of the Match title for his stellar innings of 70 runs off 32 balls.
Both matches were curtailed to 10 overs due to rain.
This year’s league matches are taking place across six venues and will lead to the Super 8 stage in February 2025. A total of 28 teams, representing various states, union territories, and Indian Railways, are competing for accolades in the championships.
