Canterbury, May 31 (NationPress) Karun Nair’s impressive double century of 204, supported by near-centuries from Sarfaraz Khan (92) and Dhruv Jurel (94), propelled India A to a formidable first-innings total of 557 against the England Lions during the second day of the unofficial Test at the St Lawrence Ground on Saturday.
The bowling attack saw both Josh Hull and Zaman Akhter taking three wickets each.
Earlier, on the first day, India A captain Abhimanyu Easwaran (8) fell victim to left-arm fast bowler Josh Hull. Shortly thereafter, Yashasvi Jaiswal (24) was dismissed trying to play a risky shot, caught behind off the bowling of Eddie Jack.
However, India quickly turned the tables against the less experienced English bowlers. Nair took his time settling in, adjusting to the conditions and the seaming Duke's ball before unleashing an array of spectacular shots.
