He attributed his success to his routine of physical fitness and visualisation, which enabled him to perform excellently at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi.
India set a formidable total in their first innings, bolstered by a stellar century from Kohli (135 runs off 120 balls) alongside crucial contributions from Rohit Sharma (57 runs, 51 balls) and K.L. Rahul (60 runs, 56 balls).
This seasoned duo combined for a smooth 136-run partnership, alleviating pressure after an early loss as India amassed a substantial 398/8 in 50 overs. "I visualise the game extensively. When I envision myself being sharp and focused, I know I can relax and perform out there. With over 300 ODIs under my belt, if I stay connected to the game and manage to hit a few balls in practice, I feel assured. If I'm not in form, I tend to want more time in the nets. Ultimately, it's about being mentally prepared and relishing the game," Kohli concluded.
